(1852-1916) Рассел, Чарлз Тейз (Пастор Рассел)
Религиозный деятель, проповедник второго пришествия Христа. По его учению, невидимое пришествие должно было произойти в 1872, а "восхождение на трон" в 1914. Затем, после классовых битв и хаоса, ожидалось наступление "царства Божьего на земле". Написал много книг и статей, истолковывая Библию. В 1872 в г. Питтсбурге создал Международную ассоциацию исследователей Библии [International Bible Students' Association], в 1909 ее штаб-квартира была перенесена в Бруклин (г. Нью-Йорк), а в 1931 т.н. "расселлиты" переименовали себя в Свидетелей Иеговы [Jehovah's Witnesses]
